Is the glass half full or half empty or just twice as big as it needs to be?
Sometimes I underestimate God. I don't expect Him to do the unexpected. I forget that He is sovereign. I forget that He is limitless and isn't bound by the confines of time and space.
So I drove to Dave's on Saturday evening and Dave and Annabel drove G and I to Lisa's party in town. Dave left the party long before I did so I had to grab a lift home from Emma at the end of the night. I completely forgot that I left my car at Dave's and just got Emma to drop me straight home. As I was drifting off to sleep my thoughts must have wandered to the events of the next day which included going shopping for which I'd need to use my car... and then I realised that I didn't have it anymore - woops!
The next day I messaged Mum and thankfully she was able to pick me up from my unit and drop me off at Dave's so I could drive home. So where does God come into all of this? Well, since moving out, I probably definitely don't get to catch up with my dear mother as much as I used to. But when Mum picked me up it gave us an opportunity to catch up and to have a really good conversation, and not just a surface "How are you? How's work? How's church?" type convo - it was a classic DNM (Deep 'n Meaningful)! We got to Dave's house pretty quickly but ended up talking in the car for quite a while longer.
So while something like leaving your car at someone else's house could just be seen as an inconvinience or annoyance... God is way way way bigger than that. He uses all of these situations and circumstances and mishaps for the good of His people. And I'm more than happy to be on the receiving end of that! I think, sometimes, we just have to keep an eye out for them ;)
