"You cried wolf, the tears they soaked your fur, The blood dripped from your fangs, You said What have I done?" - Relient K

This is how the story goes.

The end is nigh. The end of the year that is. Which can only mean one thing. Yep - that I better hurry up and get my act into gear to try and knock off the remaining items on my New Years List of Things to Do.

I just had a look through the list, and I realise I haven't actually done too badly. The aim of the list is to give myself a list of things to achieve or do or learn, but the idea isn't to pressure myself into a whole lot of things, or force myself into filling up more of my time when I don't have any left in the first place. So if I don't get it all finished - that's OK, I'm just happy to have thought about it in the first place.

You can read how I took care of "Keep a journal", "Learning to tie a double windsor" and "Writing down my dreams for a month" here - and they're now crossed off on the list below.

I've coloured the ones I'm unfortunately not going to be able to do before the year is out in red - but who knows what the future holds.

I'm currently in the process of a month without franchise fast food, I've finally booked in to go rock climbing soon and I've done 5 out of 8 meals for my Super 8 Challenge.

I really want to learn how to drive manual before the year is out so I've gotta make sure that happens soon. Fortunately, I'm going to my grandma's this weekend so I reckon I'll use the opportunity to ask her for her classic grandma style recipes for cooking honey carrots and those other sauces.

  • Keep a journal
  • Write & record a song
  • Learn how to drive manual
  • Learn how to cook honey carrots, cheese sauce / white sauce & mushroom sauce
  • Learn how to tie a double windsor
  • Write down my dreams for a month
  • Give up fast food for a month
  • Finish the 'Contraption Kid' animation that I started 3 years ago
  • Go hang gliding / rock climbing
  • Complete Super 8 Challenge

Stay tuned to hear the results.
