In Loving Memory
After a conversation at lunch about Arnott's Shapes snack biscuits and the different flavours available, I was reminded of Tasty Jack's (Arnott's brand of potato chips) and the incredible flavour that no longer exists.
Tasty Jack's Tangy Sweet & Sour - I remember the first time that the smooth yet exciting flavour came into contact with my craving taste buds. A match made in heaven. Yet it was too good to be true, Arnott's decided to discontinue the flavour after a while on the shelves. ARGH! I miss this flavour! I can confidently say that it is the best crinkle cut potato chip flavour that I have ever tasted. (So that doesn't include Kettle or Deli or Doritos)
I just need some closure though, I need to know why they got rid of it. Because I don't understand how something so good (easily better than the Chicken or Cheese & Onion flavours they have available now) can be discontinued!?!?
So I've sent a letter of complaint... will probably never get an answer, but will wait patiently anyway.
In the meantime I'm pretty excited about tasting Hamish & Andy's Gravy flavoured chip, but I doubt I'll ever get my hands on a packet.

Also Joel, can you add an RSS feed to this blog? You should've just used something like Wordpress in the first place. Oh well.

And one more thing... were you really up at 2 in the morning posting this blog?

Yeah that's what I've heard (about the gravy chips)... I'm bidding for 2 packets on ebay so hopefully I'll pick them up and get to taste them!
Yeah I've been meaning to put an RSS feed in, not sure exactly how though. Will have to work something out.
And no I wasn't up at 2AM posting this blog, I just hadn't set the time function properly (was using American time I think) - all future posts will be correct!

What pleases me the most about this entry is that you claim to be too busy for Samara, yet are quite capable of writing this out. A true sign of men's indifference to women. Keep up the good fight son!

1) Look up the RSS specification/examples: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS_(file_format)#RSS_2.0
2) Create an rss.cfm which lists the latest posts in RSS format.
3) Link to it from the blog: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS_(file_format)#Including_in_XHTML

i also got to try the gravy flavoured chips and as "toby" said, they are similar to BBQ flavour yet after you experience the BBQ hit suddenly SLAM!!! you're whacked with a hint of gravy!
(well it's more like a gentle nudge than a slam...)

Yeah well my blog has an RSS feed too now. Not sure if it's working though, seems to throw up a bit of an error, but google reader is still receiving it :S
Well I didn't even end up bidding on the chips (I forgot to do it after I left work) and they ended up selling for $23ish including postage. For 2 packets of chips... the funny thing is I reckon I would have paid that much for them. God had other plans though ;)

nice post. I like the plain flavour Tasty Jacks, haven't tried tangy sweet and sour.
Like Toby, I was also going to mention that you should get an RSS feed going. Otherwise we've gotta keep looking back to see when you've updated!
I've moved my blog, so it's now at http://edwin.bigegmedia.com.au so it will be online all the time, rather than just when my home computer is on. (ps my blog has an RSS feed... get with the times Joel!)

I've tasted Hamish & Andy's Gravy flavoured chips, actually. A couple of my friends got them for free somewhere, and shared them at school. But they're really nice - I wouldn't say they're the _best_ flavour ever, but they are good. They're kind of like BBQ-flavoured chips... but more gravy. Eh, hard to explain.
